Dr. Oscar Spurlock III

Dr. Oscar Spurlock III is a Leadership Development Director at SustainED Leaders, where he partners with districts and school leaders to implement high-quality instructional materials, strengthen leadership density, and build systems for sustained school improvement. A Dallas, Texas native, Dr. Spurlock brings over a decade of experience across elementary and secondary education, serving as a teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, principal, and executive director—supporting campuses that have achieved A/B accountability ratings and significant gains in college and career readiness. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Pre-Medicine from the University of Southern California, and both his M.Ed. in Urban Education Leadership and Policy and Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy from Southern Methodist University. Guided by the belief that education is a powerful force for transformation, Dr. Spurlock believes that every child—regardless of zip code—can succeed through access to high-quality education, strong instructional systems, and empowered school leadership.
